Keeping Safety Close to the Heart: CPR Training at BAW Plastics

At BAW Plastics, safety is part of our culture. While we’re known for custom retail display manufacturing and innovative plastic solutions, our most valuable asset will always be our team members.

That’s why, on September 2nd, we hosted a CPR certification training session right here at our Jefferson Hills facility. Led by Mercedesz Boyce-Synder from the Blaine Hill Fire Department, this hands-on workshop empowered our employees with the confidence and skills to act quickly in an emergency — whether on the manufacturing floor, in the office, or even at home.

Why CPR Training Matters in the Workplace

Emergencies don’t wait for the perfect moment, and they certainly don’t send RSVPs. In a fast-paced manufacturing environment, having employees trained in CPR and first aid can literally save lives.  By investing in workplace safety programs, BAW Plastics is ensuring that our team is prepared for the unexpected. Quick, knowledgeable action can make all the difference when every second counts.

What Our Team Learned

During the session, our employees gained hands-on experience and practical knowledge, including how to:

  • Communicate effectively during emergencies to ensure a calm, coordinated response

  • Perform CPR on adults, children, and infants with confidence and precision

  • Understand Good Samaritan laws, rights, and protections

  • Stay safe while providing aid, protecting both themselves and the person in need

With the help of Mercedesz and our trusty practice mannequin, Annie, our team practiced these critical skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

There were plenty of focused faces and each participant earned their CPR certification — and left knowing they could make a life-saving difference.

A Commitment to Safety at BAW Plastics

We sincerely hope our team never has to use these skills, but if they do, they’ll be ready. This training is part of our ongoing commitment to employee safety, wellness, and professional growth.

At BAW Plastics, safety comes from the heart — and now, so does CPR.
